An attempt to follow in the footsteps of Benjamin Bouvier. I’m trying out this format; it seems -at first glance- to require less effort than writing full blog posts.

Discoveries

• cliamp, a Terminal User Interface (TUI) media player that’s pretty handy to use without much configuration. It’s nice to just type cliamp ~/Music/King\ Gizzard\ \&\ the\ Lizard\ Wizard/ or cliamp ‘https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFoFxa7Hc04’ or even cliamp https://deadlife.bandcamp.com/album/city-of-eternal-rain to listen to music. Simple, functional.
• soju.im, an IRC bouncer, which I’m considering installing to replace my usual ZNC. The file upload extension is pretty interesting.
• Halloy, an IRC client I’ve been using for a while now alongside TheLounge. TheLounge is shared with several friends and allows file uploads.
• DankMaterialShell + niri, which replaced my i3wm setup that I’d been using for… phew, a whole bunch of years. At least 10 years.

Watched

I’ve been avoiding audiovisual content lately. The format bores me quickly.

Read

A lot of manga, some good, some not so good (way more of the latter than the former).

One that stands out is Slime Saint, which still made me laugh at certain parts: a slime, a gelatinous creature, wants to discover the human world (and especially eat their food) and so parasitizes a freshly dead body that was thrown into the forest where this slime lives. Unfortunately, the person to whom the body belonged was well-known and influential.

• Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord: I was given the WarSails DLC, which is pretty cool. I also discovered a mod that I think is absolutely awesome: Retinues, which lets you develop a unique troop tree for your clan and/or kingdom. Extremely well done.
• RimWorld: “Everyone is dead or incapacitated. This is the end of this story. [Return to main menu]”.
• Factorio: The factory must grow. The ecosystem of planet mods seems to be stabilizing, and some great mods are now available to us.
